Sound keeps cutting out

Whenever i watch a DVD using either the provided DVD player or a seperate DVD player i continually experience sound cut outs.... it seems to happen in the exchanging of dialogue (possible becasue at this point the sound is at its softest) and it just cuts out for a second or 2.
