dryer lint vent intake

NOT the lint Filter but the intake that sucks the lint into the fiter is always plugged. How can it be cleaned if niether a vaccum hose nor hand can fit inside to get the lint out? Why isnt the lint intake removable ? simple screws or pop out clips would easily solve this probem. what do you recomend?
