Toastmaster Toaster T80BC

Is my toaster broken?

I can not get the button to stay down on my toaster. Is there something I can do to fix this? I have not used it in a while, and I pulled it out yesterday and pushed it down to burn off any dust that may have collected in it. Once I did that I put my bread down in the slots and it would not stay down, so I thought maybe it was some safety reason why it was doing that, so I let it cool off. I tried again this morning and it is still doing the same thing. If you can give me some direction on this problem it would be greatly appreicated. Thanks.
