Whirlpool Refrigerator ED27DQ

Power Problem

My refrigerator blew the circuit it was on so I ran an extension cord to another outlet and it blew that one. I got the unit from my father and I have no idea how old it is... how can I find out? Is this something that can be repaired? Thanks!

    Your refrigerator is probably about 18 years old. I have one; service contract renewal was dated 6-26-92. Assuming original 2-yr. warranty, probably bought it in June 1990. I'm trying to find a replacement filter for mine - no luck so far. Can you see the part number of the filter on the back of your unit?
