Dryer won't turn off

Hello, my dryer is about 18-months old. About a week ago I've noticed the dryer won't shut off, it continues to run. I see the clock the first time got stuck on 8 min. The next time it was 16 min, and it keeps running and almost burnt my clothes to a crisp. I've done nothing differently, same cloths, same settings, etc. Can anyone assist if they've encountered this before. Thanks!
