Kenmore Refrigerator Refrigerator

compressor not working as frequently as before

My Kenmore refrigerator is not working properly these days -- compressor doesn't start up as frequently as before, only 1-2 times within 24 hrs, and the temperature inside the refrig is close to room temperature, tried to set the temperature to coldest, doesn't work. Can you give me some idea if I there is anything I can do to solve this problem?
